Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching Fundamentals

This two-day course provides basic theory and skills for coaching relationship systems. You will review the model for Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching, explore the differences between coaching individuals and coaching relationships, and how to coach the “The Third Entity™” (the relationship itself). You'll get extensive practice using both live and vignette coaching of relationships in a variety of settings, including organizations, business partnerships, couples and families. You will also practice intake and alignment coaching skills. This course can be taken as a “stand alone” and is a prerequisite for the program series. Click here to learn more.

Relationship Intelligence: Process and Flow

This three-day course addresses deep processes of emotional experience. Emotions are the currency of relationship. The coach that cannot wade into the deep water, ride the emotional rapids or appreciate the shallow "edges," will not be able to sustain relationship systems work.

In this course you will be introduced to Arnold Mindell's Process Work and a new skill set for the unfolding and following of emotional processes through working with "signals, channels and edges." Click here to learn more.

System Geography: Roles and Structures

This three-day course explores roles, paradox and diversity in relationship. It deals with the semi-permanent structures of relationship: roles and cultural influences. To coach systems geography is to work creatively with Outer Roles™ (job functions of the relationship), Inner Roles™ (emotional functioning of the relationship), Secret Roles (sub-personalities that can be triggered), and Ghost Roles (invisible presences impacting the relationship, such as the ghost of the "ex.").Click here to learn more.

Relationship Path: Vision and Potentiality

In this three-day course you will pull back and take a soft focus on the space, power and potential of relationship. Cutting-edge and eclectic, it draws from quantum physics, Joseph Campbell’s work on myth, Taoism and Process Work to radically explore the deep meaning of relationship. You will focus on the partnership as a dream and the partners and “The Third Entity™” as dreamers. You will examine the Three Levels of Reality (Arnold Mindell) and how they impact personal and work relationships, and practice the fluid back-and-forth movement between those levels.

In this course you will be introduced to Arnold Mindell's Process Work and a new skill set for the unfolding and following of emotional processes through working with "signals, channels and edges."

Through practicing these skills you'll discover the power of Deep Democracy with, and for, your clients. Deep Democracy insists that all the voices of a system be heard - even the unpopular ones! Only then the fullness of that system's reality will be available for change. By mastering these skills, you will be able to fluidly move with whatever shows up in the system and in the coaching.

This dimension of systems coaching also initiates coaches into working with large groups or teams on emotionally charged issues. Participants experience relationship coaching as important and transformational work in the world.

As a result of taking this course allparticipants will:

  • Have an entirely new model for coaching individuals, couples and organizational relationships based on Arnold Mindell's Process Work.

System Geography: Roles and Structures

This three-day course explores roles, paradox and diversity in relationship. It deals with the semi-permanent structures of relationship: roles and cultural influences. To coach systems geography is to work creatively with Outer Roles™ (job functions of the relationship), Inner Roles™ (emotional functioning of the relationship), Secret Roles (sub-personalities that can be triggered), and Ghost Roles (invisible presences impacting the relationship, such as the ghost of the "ex.").

In this course you will also explore the impact of cultural and external influences on the relationship system. You will practice skills that free a greater range of relationship expression, promote an appreciation of differences, and support alignment in the face of disagreement. Using "geography" and conscious choice, you'll explore "My Land, Your Land, Our Land™."

As a result of taking this course all participants will:

  • Understand the function of relationship structures such as outer and inner roles for providing stability to business and personal relationships.
  • Recognize the need for periodic change in these structures in order to avoid "role nausea" and role rigidity over time. You will also have the coaching tools necessary to assist relationships in reviewing and updating roles.
  • Have a concrete model and tools for working with diversity issues in both organizational and personal settings (My Land, Your Land, Our Land). You will have the opportunity to practice these tools in an organizational vignette.
  • You will also have the coaching tools necessary to assist those in relationships to review and update roles.

Relationship Path: Vision and Potentiality provides tools for discovering the essential dream or vision out of which the relationship was born. In this dimension, partners are invited to reconnect with that original vision in order to deepen meaning and fulfillment. You will learn how to track the original relationship myth™ as well as coach clients to discover the new relationship myth™. In this course, psychology meets quantum physics, a cutting-edge synthesis which fundamentally enhances the professional coaching paradigm.

In “consensus reality language” we say that this course presents tools to deepen relationship satisfaction and joy. In corporate or business language we say that it refers to the exploration of corporate or business values, and mission or vision. In the Taoist sense it is about unfolding the "way" of this particular relationship, fearlessly stalking the unique reason "why this relationship now?" It is in this dimension that the question changes from "Who is doing what to whom?" to "What is trying to happen?" It is here that coach and clients discover and wrestle with ghosts and gremlins and turn them into allies. The deep meaning of relationship is explored, including relationship myths and relationship as an aspect of spirit.

As a result of taking this course all participants will:

  • Understand the critical role fulfillment plays in business and personal relationship longevity.
  • Know the theory for identifying the deep meaning of each relationship and have the tools to assist clients in accessing it (relationship dreaming, myth, etc.). You will be able to apply this to organizational and personal settings.
  • Be able to identify three critical components of relationship fulfillment (values, myth, relationship as spiritual path, etc.).
  • Know three ways of uncovering relationship values (questionnaire, metaskills wheel, future selves, etc.).
  • Understand the impact of value conflicts and disappointed expectations on relationship and know three tools for working with them (high dream/low dream, metaskills, relationship wheel, etc.).
  • Know at least three techniques for exploring the transpersonal aspects of relationship, (myths, metaskills, partner as creator, mirror, truth teller, aspect of the divine). You will be familiar with how to adapt these tools to business and personal settings.
  • Feel more confident and competent at coaching all types of relationships than you did when you entered the program.
